Basmati and Wild Rice
Gourmet Valley specialty rices are a wide variety of nutritious rices grown throughout the world. Cleaned and packed in California’s Central Valley, these delicious healthful rices include Extra Fancy 100% wild rice, and delicious blends of wild rice, brown rice, and basmati. 6-Grain medley combines three beautiful and delicious rices with hull less barley, rye berries and black and purple barley.
Gourmet Valley rices can be combined with sautéed vegetables, nuts and other grains to make a complete meal. The addition of protein such as sautéed shrimp can change any Gourmet Valley rice dish from a side, to a main course. Suggested cooking liquids include water, chicken or beef stock, or fish stock.
Extra fancy wild rice is scarified, or scraped to allow rapid cooking. The result is that these two distinctly differences rices each achieve 100% tender texture after cooking. The two outstanding rices provide great contrasting color on the dish, and two elegant and compatible flavors.
